We will have ongoing operational costs to sustain the Colley Carehouse of approximately $350,000 to 500,000 annually depending upon the support for services that we can raise from our community for this service to those at end-of-life.
Colley Carehouse is in desperate need of a corporate sponsor. We will be initiating fundraising efforts to support this community hospice home with a launch of our vision on May 13, 2025 at the historic Friedman-Mincer Building in downtown Fort Smith at 5:30p. This will coincide with the celebration of what would have been Chad Colley’s 81st Birthday.
This community effort to support those at end-of-life will not be possible to sustain without corporate sponsors and the support of our River Valley community. We will be solely funded by community support and we will also seek grants from corporate and family foundations, United Way, etc.
With the recent closure of the inpatient hospice unit at Mercy Hospital and the limited use of the inpatient hospice unit at Baptist Hospital, resources for hospice care have become scarcely limited in the greater Fort Smith region. We feel that with successful partners for support, we can begin to meet the needs of those in our community who need extra assistance at end-of-life.
