We have been blessed with the opportunity to purchase a small church in Barling, AR following the decision by the church to no longer meet as a congregation. The property is located at 1405 G Street, Barling, AR. It is approximately 6200 square feet and already contains much of what we envisioned in Colley Carehouse. It is conveniently located in Barling off Fort Street/Hwy22 in a small quiet neighborhood.
We have obtained Risley Architects and Managing Partner Rett Howard has offered to join our effort by offering his services to make our dream become a reality. The remaining church trustees have accepted our offer of $250,000 for their property and they have given us until August 16, 2026 to raise the funds to close on the property.
It has been estimated that the remodel project will cost $300,000 – 400,00 for a total cost of roughly $600,000. We have already replaced the roof of the building with a wonderful contribution from Elite Roofing in Fort Smith. This initial investment in our community will only be approximately $100/square foot. There is no possible way we could ever obtain this type of property at this price point.
The Board of Directors is very excited to begin serving guests at end-of-life and their families. Knowing the acquisition of property and remodeling to best serve the community for guests and their families will take time, the Board has voted to temporarily begin serving the community with leased space at The Cottages at Ashton. This beautiful property is located nearby in Barling, AR and will serve as a place to launch Colley Carehouse services to our community on May 1, 2026.
